Vitiligo on a forearm: clearly defined, map-like area of depigmented skin. Follicular pigment is often present at the affected area. If the hairs also lose their pigment the treatment prognosis of vitiligo is even worse than usual. In such a case, it is unlikely that PUVA therapy, for example, would be of benefit.
