Ulerythema ophryogenes, a keratinisation disorder of the skin, causes erythema in the eyebrow and cheek areas, mild scaling of the skin and thinning of the peripheral eyebrows. The patients usually have concomitant keratosis pilaris elsewhere on the skin. Treatment is seldom needed, and the cutaneous symptoms usually subside in the adulthood.
