In association with lichen planus, nail changes are found in 10% of cases. Nail lesions are seldom the only symptom. Typical features include longitudinal furrows and creases, cracking, subungual hyperkeratosis and thinning of the nails, sometimes to almost complete erosion. Onychomycosis should be excluded.
