Chilblains (perniones) on the abdomen and neck. Flushed well-circumscribed patches are felt as plate-like indurations in the skin. The patches are tender and tingling, and in worst cases they blister or ulcerate. The condition is caused by the skin’s exposure to cold, often associated with damp air. The skin is cooled but not frozen. The nodules are more common in the toes and fingers.
