In biopsy, this multi-coloured naevus was diagnosed as junctional. However, when a pigmented skin tumour on the nose of an elderly person is this asymmetrical and multi-coloured it is mandatory to remove it completely even if the biopsy were taken from the darkest area. A patch looking like this is at least lentigo maligna ”until proven otherwise”.
