Candidiasis in the armpit. A fiery erythema at the bottom of the armpit with small satellite spots around the margins. Differential diagnostics include the similar-looking flexural psoriasis that is often confirmed only when found in other skin areas. In an eczema, on the other hand, the skin at the bottom is usually in better condition. Topical treatment with imidazole derivatives and ”air-conditioning” of the warm and moist flexural areas bring help but the condition easily recurs e.g. in patients with diabetes or in immunosuppression.
