Leucoplakia is a clinical term referring to a pale, clearly defined patch or area on the oral mucous membrane that cannot be scraped off and no other diagnosis can be established. The picture shows a well-defined light-coloured mucosal change on the left side of the floor of the mouth in a smoker. Biopsy revealed mild dysplasia.
