A nodular basal cell carcinoma may have strong pigmentation and therefore a seborrhoeic wart and a nodular melanoma should be considered in the differential diagnosis. Telangiectases and an undulating vallate structure speak for a basal cell carcinoma. A punch biopsy from the centre of the tumour confirms the diagnosis. The tumour is removed surgically.
