Ezcema herpeticum = Eruption varicelliformis Kaposi threatens when an (atopic) eczema gets a herpes vesicle. Rapidly disseminated HSV in the eczema should be managed with oral acyclovir or its analogues without delay. If fluorescent antibody test is available, it should be taken, but there is no time to wait for viral determination (culture). In a patient with eczema, recrudescent herpes may spread rapidly over wide areas. Therapy: oral acyclovir.
