Symmetric pruritic eruption affecting predominantly the extensor surfaces of the extremities: Erythema multiforme. Multiple factors may provoke this immunological reaction, e.g. infections or drugs. Recurrent HSV infection may be accompanied in some persons with recurrent Erythema multiforme. Systemic corticosteroids relieve the symptoms, but opinions on the effect of corticosteroid on the duration of the symptom are less uniform.
