Distal subungual onychomycosis (DSO) affects the nail through hyponychium and often spreads trackwise, sometimes also forming bizarre figures like in this case. Toenail onychomycosis is usually accompanied by plantar mycosis as well. The causative agent was T. rubrum in this case too.
