Recurrent hand dermatitis has caused minor transverse ridges in the finger nails. Symptomatic therapy with topical corticoids and emollients is needed, but usually not sufficient for a cure without simultaneous elimination of factors responsible for dermatitis. Skin allergy testing is often necessary.
