Dermatofibroma is a benign, solitary nodule most common in the extremities. It may be diffusely pigmented and the central part is often paler. Sometimes pressure causes modest pain. Usually no therapy is necessary. Liquid nitrogen cryosurgery may diminish the size of the lesion. If there is any doubt about diagnosis, it is best excised.
