Facial Herpes zoster in an elderly woman, one-sided as is the rule in this disease caused by the varicella-zoster virus. If started during the first 4 days of symptoms antiviral drugs may be beneficial in shortening the virus shedding period and possibly in reducing the risk of post-herpetic pain.
