The skin in the knee region is favorite site for several dermatoses. This figure shows an exceptionally wide neurodermatitis circumscripta, lichen simplex chronicus. It is a "random" disease, which explains the unilateral character. Potent topical corticosteroids, with the efficacy possibly enhanced by occlusion, usually lead to (at least temporary) cure.
