Diagnosis of hereditary haemochromatosis. Diagnosis of hereditary haemochromatosis* Determination of serum or plasma iron parameters if this has not been performed before HFE genotyping. Genotypic detection of a mutation that predisposes to haemochromatosis is as such not sufficient for confirmation of the diagnosis but warrants follow-up of the iron parameters.
