Condyloma acuminatum (genital warts) is a common viral infection of predominantly genital mucous membranes. The therapeutic alternatives are podophyllotoxin, various cauterization methods, cryotherapy and most recently imiquimod. Especially in female patients the condition may prove to be highly resistant to treatment.
