Scabies on the side of the hand. The female Sarcoptes scabiei mite can be seen as a darker spot at the end of its tunnel. Picking the mite on the object glass and looking at it with the laboratory microscope is quite convincing to the patient and very helpful should there arise problems later in therapy.
