Diffuse plain xanthoma is a peculiar, uncommon form, where widespread yellow plaques are found in the face and flexural surfaces (here the elbow). The patient suffers from lipoprotein disturbance. The disease may be partially controlled by appropriate therapy of the lipid disturbance.
