Dermographism or urticaria factitia is a common subgroup of physical urticarias. The symptoms are characteristically provoked by mechanical stimuli. You can even write one's name on the skin with a blunt object. No specific exogenous factor can be blamed for symptoms. Oral antihistamines are often beneficial.
