Seborrhoeic dermatitis is very common in the nasal fold. Itching, often reddish background and greasy flakes are diagnostic features. The scalp is commonly simultaneously affected. The exact role of Malassezia furfur (Pityrosporum) yeast in the aetiology of seborrhoeic dermatitis is not completely clear.
