Chronic irritant dermatitis of the hands with worst symptoms in distal parts of the fingers, "finger tip dermatitis". The patient often has an atopic background, is a female, and comes to contact with water in her work. Cure or relieve of the symptoms requires the elimination of the irritants and the use of topical corticosteroids and emollients. Allergy testing is necessary because of the possibility of contact allergy.
