Fairly large perimembranous VSD with normal pulmonary artery pressure. On auscultation a fifth-degree systolic murmur is heard and on palpation a small thrill is felt in the left third intercostal space. No symptoms of heart failure. An evaluation is now made on whether this child would benefit from surgery at the age of one. Phonogram shows a pansystolic murmur, yet S1 and S2 can be distinguished. P2 is not enhanced and is split normally. This also suggests that pulmonary resistance is normal. Age 0.6 years, height 70.0 cm, weight 6.8 kg. Area of auscultation: left third ic (LIC3).
